Konftel integrating with the market's leading UC clients – Cisco Jabber latest addition
Konftel can now provide client integration with the market's three leading UC platforms: Microsoft Lync, Cisco Jabber and Avaya One-X. The graphical user interface in Konftel's conference devices in the 55 series makes it easy to handle calls and maintain a good overview.
Growth for UC applications is strong in the global market, which means that users are increasingly communicating and collaborating in real-time from their PCs. This is something that Konftel facilitates through smart feature layers for the conference devices in the 55 series. The solution makes call functions in the UC client available directly on the touch screens of the Konftel 55 and 55W.
“We're now introducing support for Cisco Jabber. This means that we can offer user-friendly integration with the market's three leading UC environments,” says Konftel product manager Torbjörn Karlsson and adds that the feature layers for Microsoft Lync and Avaya One-X are already greatly appreciated by users.
Connects to UC clients
Konftel's 55 series products are designed to function both as premium personal devices and as junction points for group communications. It's when they connect via USB to a PC that UC integration becomes available. The conference devices automatically identify the UC client on the computer and the adapted interface is shown on the display.
“There actually aren't any other conference devices on the market that offer a graphical touch screen interface for the UC application,” says Torbjörn Karlsson. “This means that the users see directly when the UC service is active, instead of the integration being hidden in the background.”
Here are a few of the call functions in Cisco Jabber that Konftel users gain direct access to:
Cisco Jabber integration with the Konftel 55/55W will be available to users in May as a free software update at http://www.konftel.com/Support/Upgrade.
The current version of the software for the 55 series already includes support for Microsoft Lync 2010/2013 and Avaya One-X.
“Our goal is to continue to support our customers with updated software when new versions of the UC clients are released,” says Torbjörn Karlsson. “We'll be supporting Skype for Business and Avaya Communicator for example, later this year.”

No size fits all – meet us and learn why
Conferencing is converging. Traditional phone and video conferencing is merging with mobile in flexible software and cloud-based solutions. Borders are blurring as specific classifications for audio, video and web conferencing become less relevant. Despite this there is still no single conferencing solution that caters to all the diverse customer requirements, according to a recent report (Dec. 31, 2014) by the analyst firm Current Analysis. A broad range of conferencing tools and services is needed. Recognizing that customers have unique needs based on how and where they work – and the kind of infrastructure they have access to – is essential for productive meetings. Konftel, the Swedish company first to market with a conference phone in the late 80s, offers a broad portfolio of conference phones and conference devices. No size fits all when it comes to conferencing, and we firmly believe that audio quality is always the most important enabler.
